Religious
Education Organization at UUCCI The RE Council serves as the organizing body of our RE program. The RE Council partners with the classroom leaders to find appropriate curricula for the coming year and to recruit volunteers and lend any other support. Our mutual goal is to have an RE program which is engaging, safe, respectful, and fun for all our children. Our RE philosophy is expressed in our RE Manifesto. The RE Council this year is : Amie Smith 342-9232 amiemarie@mac.com , Liz Nolan-Greven grevenfam5@yahoo.com 342-7226, Marylu Orr mlntorr@comcast.net 342-6015, Randy Heiland rheiland@gmail.com , and Susan Burton sburton34@yahoo.com . Please feel free to call any of us any time with questions or concerns. We have a classroom setting for every age group. All the primary classes meet on Sunday morning. The children participate in the service for about 20 minutes and then they are sung out and join their volunteer teachers. The youth tend to meet on Sunday eve but often are participatory in services and helping with younger children. Our volunteers are a very important aspect of our program and every RE family must volunteer to teach at some point in the year or help coordinate an age group level. We also have many volunteers from the adult congregation who help us. Every classroom group has a leader. The classroom age groupings and leaders for 2008-2009 are: Preschool: ages 3-5(K) Jesse Clarke Younger Primary: grades 1-3 Nicole Hollander Older Primary: grades 4-6: Amie Smith Middle School Youth Group: 7/8th graders Susan Burton High School Youth Group: 9-12th graders Liz Nolan-Greven The nursery provides care for babies and toddlers. There are two paid sitters in the nursery every Sunday AM. |
